ASUS CES 2022: ASUS Laptop Range
New elements are being brought into the fold by ASUS in 2022! There are some amazing upgrades and new additions to the family I cannot wait to get my hands on. Being ever-innovative, 2022 will continue this trend even more so with key partnerships with Intel, AMD and even Wacom!
ASUS Laptop Highlights:
With the thought of space flight becoming a reality to the masses in the near future, ASUS wanted to be the first to bring us a taste of this. The taste of space comes from ZenBook 14X Space Edition inspired by the P6300, a laptop that worked for 600 days in space with no defects. Next and the second most exciting edition for me is the ZenBook 17″ Fold which is exactly what it sounds like, a full display panel laptop that folds into a hybrid! Although on every other day, the Fold would have come first, the ProArt stole the stage for me with PA169CDV incorporating Wacom technology and giving a new definition to digital creation. There are more amazing additions like the ChromeBook Flip, ExpertBook B5, and a brand new TUF gaming range!
What is new:
In 2022 there are several technological changes to expect in the new ASUS laptop lineup. These are best explained in the actual units themselves as there is now so much diversity across the range.
Some of the key inclusions are the how Intel’s new 12th Generation Chips complimented by Thread director Technology will not just increase performance but also assist in large multi-tasking workloads. While we have had multi-core processing for a while, we have not had core diversity and a client-based system to optimize task scheduling. Windows 11 is a key factor in this development and while still in infancy with some defect, we have already been able to see its capability in desktop systems.
Like the saying where there is smoke there is fire and this could not be more true in that where there is Intel there is AMD. We will also see ASUS implementing Ryzen 6000 series although nothing is confirmed yet. There is little known about Ryzen 6000 but I am willing to bet there is going to be some exciting competition in the ASUS laptop lineup this year.
Lastly if you have never heard the term MUX, well you will undoubtedly come to know what it is when the all new TUF range makes its way to market. The TUF range has new life with Intel 12th Gen processing and Nvidia graphical processing. Besides all the new tech, it just looks so amazing.

The ZenBook 17 Fold OLED UX9702
Incredible unfolds: ASUS has worked closely with Intel and BOE Technology Group to unleash Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, the world’s first 17.3-inch foldable OLED laptop. The ExpertBook B5 Series

The ProArt Display PA169CDV
ASUS ProArt Display PA169CDV is a 15.6-inch 4K UHD IPS display that includes Wacom EMR technology for compatibility with bundled ProArt Pen. Built for professional creatives, it offers stunning 4K resolution and targets the specifications for DisplayHDR 400 certification. Its innovative design includes two kickstands for versatile use — the upper kickstand tilts PA169CDV slightly for drawing and sketching, while the lower kickstand props it up to an ideal angle for use as a secondary display.
PA169CDV is PANTONE Validated and Calman Verified, making it the first portable monitor that is dual certified. It is factory pre-calibrated to Delta E < 2 color difference, and features 10-bit color, 100% sRGB and 100% Rec.709 color gamut.

The TUF Gaming F15 and F17
TUF Gaming F15 and F17 laptops offer the 12th Generation Intel Core i7-12700H processor and up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 laptop GPU with 140 W max TGP — a potent combination that delivers incredible gaming performance. For added power and control, a hardware MUX Switch gets around a performance drawback of gaming laptops, which tend to route the GPU’s frames via the CPU’s integrated graphics to the display. Gamers can use Armoury Crate to fire up a direct GPU mode that reduces latency and improves performance by 5-10% on average. To match these performance gains, the laptops’ Arc Flow Fans have an updated 84-blade design.
